Foothills East (Box Elder,SD)
The Foothills East apartments has been recently renovated. The complex features 68 two bedroom apartments and 4 large one bedroom handicap accessible units. There are a total of 9 split level buildings with 8 units in each building (4 units upstairs and 4 units down stairs). Each unit features its own appliances as well as air conditioners. Each building, as well as two of the handicap units, is equipped with laundry facilities. The project has installed a new playground for children and added parking lots for additional parking. New sidewalks and landscaping has also enhanced the property. Some other updates include new cabinets, flooring, windows, doors, heaters, lights, plumbing, and energy efficient appliances.
Location:
Foothills East Apartments are located across the road from Ellsworth Air Force Base. The Villa Rancharo Mall, Box Elder City Hall, Police Station, gas station, coffee shop, and Douglas High School are all within walking distance of the complex.

Cost:
The rent at Foothills East is based on a family’s income. A utility allowance of $55 is subtracted from 30% of the adjusted income, to come up with an amount that you would pay for rent. Currently, we have 52 units that are subsidized. The range for units without subsidy is $545 - $555. A $375 deposit is required for all units on or before move in. Water, sewer, garbage, stove, and refrigerator are included.
